Well, if I want to make ten sales, then I am going to have to make a whole bunch of phone calls aren’t I? You can do the math for every single day. After you’ve been working on a campaign for about a week you’ll know what your closing ratio. You’ll know for every ten people I talk to, I make one sale. So if tomorrow I want to make ten sales… it’s pretty simple, I have to talk to one hundred people. There is no luck involved. So just tweak the numbers and tweak your work ethic to be successful and you can predict just how many sales you’re going to make.

Your voice is the tool you are going to use to do that. How fast are you talking? Are you talking in a speed that they can understand what you are saying? Are you being very general with what you are saying? What about the pitch? Are you talking in a very high pitch or are you talking in a low pitch? I am conveying two completely different emotions depending on what pitch I use. What about the volume? I can record a whisper and blast it on my stereo, it’s still a whisper. The volume is also very important and the clarity. You’re going to be talking to all different types of people, different cultures, different backgrounds, black, Hispanic, Asians, they may not be as perceptive to the language you are using. You need to make sure that you are very clear and very precise in the way that you speak.
Also, mirror your prospect, if you have somebody that is very, very excited then it’s ok to be a little more excited then them. If you have an older person that is talking lower, then you have to be a chameleon; you have to blend in with your surroundings in order to be well received. Read your customer and be one bit more excited then them. Those are the things you need to do to be prepared and to get started.

We’ve got several of clubs for them to pick from. Well, I need to be an expert on each one of those clubs. I need to have it committed to memory and if I don’t, I should have some index cards in front of me. So let’s say one of the clubs I’m promoting is “Duvet”, well on that index card it’s going to say “Duvet” and I’m going to have five features of that club; along side each of those features I’m going to have a benefit. So how is this feature going to benefit my customer and so on and so fourth. I’ll have a card for each night club and a corresponding list of features and benefits on each card. It’s important to keep this in front of you until you have it committed to memory. You need to know everything there is to know about your product. Also, have pre-planned rebuttals to common objections. No body wakes up in the morning and says, “hey honey, I hope that telemarketer calls me today because I’m really hoping to get a free birthday party and a free bottle of champagne.” IT DOESN’T HAPPEN!!! So you’re going to be intruding in peoples lives and you’re going to need to guide them through their decision to have the party at your club. Well, how are you going to do that? They’re going to be objecting to what you have to say. The only way to you can do it, is to have some pre-planned rebuttals, if you know exactly what you’re going to say to them. There’s usually about ten objections that hold true with every single product; I don’t have money, I don’t have time, I have to talk to my wife about it, let me think about it, I’ll call you back.
